Privacy Policy

Welcome to INTOCHARGE, and thank you for engaging with our digital platforms and clean energy services.

This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information when you interact with our website, mobile app, social media channels, and the INTOCHARGE charging infrastructure (collectively referred to as the “Sites” or “Platforms”). At INTOCHARGE, we prioritize your trust and are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with all applicable data privacy regulations.
We recognize that safeguarding your personal data is important, which is why privacy and security are embedded into the way we design, operate, and maintain our services. From the moment your information is collected through our Platforms to when it is securely deleted, we strive to manage your data responsibly and transparently.
This Privacy Policy outlines how INTOCHARGE (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares your personal data. It also informs you of your rights under privacy laws, including the right to opt out of certain uses of your data as outlined under the Ontario Consumer Privacy Act.

By accessing or using any of our Platforms or services, including our EV charging network, you acknowledge and agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not accept how your information is used as described here, we recommend that you discontinue your use of our Platforms and close any active INTOCHARGE accounts.
Please note that our Platforms may include links to third-party websites or services that operate independently of INTOCHARGE. These third parties maintain their own privacy practices, which we do not control. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before engaging with those services.
To learn more about how we manage your data, please review the sections that follow.

Who is responsible for your personal information?
The INTOCHARGE entity that manages the specific platform or service you are using is the designated data controller of any personal information collected through that use. As the data controller, it is legally accountable for determining the purposes and methods by which your personal information is collected, used, and processed.

What Information Do We Collect?
When you interact with INTOCHARGE services—whether through our website, customer platform, or during the use of charging systems we’ve installed or support—we may collect certain personal information. We limit our collection to only what is necessary to provide services effectively and improve your experience. The types of information we may gather include:

  • Your full name.
  • Your residential address, and if applicable, other locations you mark as preferred sites for using INTOCHARGE-supported EV charging services.
  • Your contact number.
  • Your email address for communication and service-related updates.
  • Your date of birth, but only in cases where you voluntarily participate in customer feedback programs or anonymous surveys.
  • The address and technical details of your charging equipment if it’s connected via Wi-Fi or cellular to a network managed or serviced by INTOCHARGE.
  • Location data from your mobile device (if you allow location access) to help identify nearby charging stations and tailor location-based services.
  • The make and model of your electric vehicle.
  • Energy usage data linked to your charging sessions on the INTOCHARGE platform or through affiliated installations.
  • Records of the date, time, and site where your charging sessions take place.
  • Device-specific information such as IP address or mobile device ID, used to enhance security and recognize repeat visits or interactions.
  • Any other details you share directly with us—for example, when you reach out with feedback, support inquiries, or service requests.

Please note: INTOCHARGE does not intend for its services to be used by individuals under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you are under 16, please do not submit personal information through our services. If a parent or legal guardian becomes aware that their child has provided us with personal information, they may contact us at info@intocharge.com to request deletion of that data from our records.

How We Collect Your Personal Information
At INTOCHARGE, we gather personal information both directly from you and indirectly through the use of our services, technology, and digital tools such as cookies.

Information You Provide to INTOCHARGE
We collect personal details when you engage with our platforms and services in various ways. This includes creating an account through our website, using the INTOCHARGE charging network, making a purchase, contacting our support team, submitting questions through our online forms, participating in our online or in-person events, interacting with us on social media, responding to surveys, or entering any of our promotional campaigns such as contests or giveaways. You may also choose to share feedback or testimonials with us.
In some cases, if you speak with our representatives by phone, the call may be recorded for training, service quality monitoring, or to document the interaction for reference. If a call is to be recorded, you will be informed in advance and given the option to decline.

Information Collected Through Our Technology and Services
When you use an INTOCHARGE smart charging station, certain data—such as its physical location—may be collected automatically via its Wi-Fi or cellular connection. If you prefer to disable this functionality, you can contact us at EV@intocharge.com. Please note, however, that disconnecting the device may limit certain features such as security updates and system enhancements delivered through remote updates.

Information Collected Automatically (Cookies and Analytics)
When you visit our website, we may collect certain data automatically through cookies and similar technologies. These tools help us understand how you navigate our site, so we can improve your user experience and tailor content accordingly. More details about the use of cookies and your options for managing them can be found in the cookie section of this Privacy Policy.

Please note: INTOCHARGE does not store your login credentials or collect any payment card numbers when you use our services or visit our site.

Marketing and Advertising Practices
We may use the information you provide to present you with relevant advertising across digital platforms. To do this effectively, we utilize cookies and similar tracking technologies (e.g., pixel tags, scripts, beacons) on our website and affiliated platforms. These tools help us better understand your online behavior so that our promotions and content align more closely with your interests.
We also collaborate with social media platforms like Facebook to show you targeted ads. To achieve this, we may securely hash and share certain data such as your email or phone number with those platforms so they can match it to your user profile. This process does not involve sharing your actual personal information, but it allows our advertising partners to show content that may be more relevant to you. To learn more about how Facebook and others use your data, please visit their respective privacy policy pages.

You have the option to opt out of these marketing communications at any time. If you’ve given your consent for marketing, you can withdraw it later by contacting us or managing your communication preferences.

You can also manage cookie settings through your browser’s help menu or by using the following opt-out tools:

Additionally, social media platforms typically allow you to control ad personalization through your profile settings. To stop receiving marketing emails from us, simply use the unsubscribe link included in each email.

How and Why We Share Your Personal Information

INTOCHARGE may disclose your personal information only when necessary to support our operations, fulfill legal obligations, or deliver the services you request. Information is shared strictly on a need-to-know basis and always in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

Internal Use Within INTOCHARGE
Access to your personal information within our organization is limited to team members who require that information to perform specific tasks related to our services. These individuals are authorized and trained to handle your data securely and respectfully.

Affiliated Entities
We may share your information with companies that are part of the INTOCHARGE group or are under common control with us. This allows us to provide consistent service, improve our offerings, and ensure a seamless experience across all our business units, as outlined in this policy.

Trusted Partners and Service Providers
We may provide limited personal data to third-party vendors who support our operations. This includes, but is not limited to, advertising platforms (such as Google, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, and others) and service providers who assist with distribution, customer support, and digital communications. Where applicable, we use cookies or similar technologies to tailor advertising based on your interactions with our website. More information on our cookie practices can be found in the relevant sections of this policy.
Any third party receiving your personal information from us is contractually required to use it solely for the purpose of delivering services on our behalf and to maintain strict confidentiality and security measures throughout the handling of your data.
While INTOCHARGE does not store your personal data outside of Canada or the United States, some of our partners may process information in other jurisdictions. In such cases, your data may be subject to local laws of the region where the service provider operates.

Professional Advisors and Corporate Transactions
We may confidentially share your personal information with our legal, financial, or accounting advisors for compliance or audit purposes. Additionally, in the event of a merger, acquisition, sale, or other corporate change, your personal information may be part of the business assets transferred to the new entity. If such changes significantly alter how we use or protect your data, we will notify you in advance through our website or by email.

Non-Personal and Aggregated Data Sharing
We may also provide anonymized or aggregated data, which cannot be used to identify individuals, to third parties such as research institutions, utilities, policy organizations, or service providers. This information may be used for purposes like analyzing EV charging patterns, supporting research initiatives, designing public programs, or improving energy efficiency models. For example, we may share non-identifiable data such as average charging session durations, geographical usage trends, or energy consumption metrics across different regions.

How do we store and protect your personal information?
We store the personal information of our all customers at data centres hosted by Microsoft Azure and AWS in the Province of Ontario and the US. We do not keep your personal information for longer than is necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected or to fulfil other legitimate purposes, such as complying with our legal obligations and resolving legal claims. Because these needs can vary for different types of personal information and depending on your use of the Sites or the INTOCHARGE Network, actual retention periods can vary. When your personal information is no longer necessary, we destroy it securely. We never keep it just in case we have a need for it in the future.
We are committed to protecting your personal information. Therefore, we use data protection measures that meet stringent security and data privacy requirements and we have implemented appropriate organizational controls to protect your personal information from loss, theft, or unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. We also comply with breach notification laws, which means we will let you know of any breach of security, confidentiality, or unauthorized release of your personal information whenever we are legally required to do so.
Unfortunately, however, sending any information, including personal information, via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information once with us, we cannot guarantee the security of any personal information sent to our Sites while still in transit and so you provide it at your own risk.

What are your rights regarding your personal information?
You have the right to access your personal information by requesting a copy of the data we hold about you. You may also ask us to correct or update any of your personal information if you find it to be inaccurate or incomplete. If you choose to have your personal information deleted, we will remove it from our records upon receiving and verifying your request, and we will instruct any third-party service providers who have received your data to do the same, unless we are legally required or otherwise permitted to retain it. You may object to or limit our use of your personal information, and while we will honor any valid request to stop using your data for direct marketing, we may continue to process your information where a legal justification exists. Additionally, you can request a machine-readable version of your personal information for electronic transfer to another party. If you have given us consent to use your data, you may withdraw that consent at any time, unless INTOCHARGE has an independent legal basis to continue using the information. We are committed to treating all users equally and will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights, including by denying access to our services or offering a reduced level of service. You may have additional rights depending on your jurisdiction.

Please be advised that since we require basic information about you to process your transactions, and to create and maintain your INTOCHARGE account and your access to the INTOCHARGE Network, your ability to use our Sites and the INTOCHARGE Network may be impacted if you decide not to provide us personal information that is necessary for us to perform such tasks.
If you would like to exercise any of your rights, please email our Privacy Officer at info@intocharge.com.
You do not need a INTOCHARGE account to make a request. However, only you or a person authorized to act on your behalf may submit a request related to your personal information, so we may attempt to verify your identity or authority to make the request.
We endeavor to respond to a verifiable request within 25 business days of receipt. If we require more time (up to 90 business days), we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing. We do not charge a fee to comply with your request unless it is excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded. If we determine that your request warrants a fee for the administrative costs of complying with it, we will tell you why and provide you with a cost estimate before completing the request. If we cannot comply with your request, the response we provide you will also explain why.
